SCP retroBreach Map Hub
Learn every zone, checkpoint, and surface exit before your next Containment Breach round.
Why the facility map matters
SCP retroBreach is a Sandbox Engine Roblox remake of the classic rBreach loop. Rounds are decided by who understands the facility faster: which doors need which keycards, where SCP-914 sits relative to Class-D cells, and how Gate B connects Entrance Zone elevators to the surface extraction path. This map hub is the starting point for layout knowledge you will reuse in Containment Breach, Class-D Riot, and Council Rescue.
The site is still in beta, so hallway segments and spawn timing can shift after patches. The Christmas and console support updates already replaced some trisections with server rooms and classrooms, and added a third spawn wave in Containment Breach and Council Rescue. Treat this hub as a living overview, then drill into the detailed pages for facility zones and escape routes.
Zones at a glance
The facility is organised into four playable layers that most players shorthand as LCZ, HCZ, EZ, and Surface:
- Light Containment Zone (LCZ) — Class-D cells, early loot, SCP-914, and several Safe or Euclid containment rooms. White concrete corridors and dark floors make LCZ easy to recognise once you have a few rounds under your belt.
- Heavy Containment Zone (HCZ) — Deeper anomaly housing, harder fights, and the bridge between early-game scavenging and Entrance Zone pressure. Expect stronger SCPs and contested checkpoints.
- Entrance Zone (EZ) — Offices, security spawn influence, Gate A / Gate B approaches, and Tesla risk near Gate B. This is where escapes and reinforcements collide.
- Surface Zone — Elevators from the gates, extraction for escapes, and reinforcement spawn sides for Mobile Task Force, Chaos Insurgency, and allied GOIs.
Checkpoints between LCZ–HCZ and HCZ–EZ typically need mid-tier keycards and close on a short timer. Gate elevators demand higher clearance. If you are still learning cards and loot flow, pair this hub with PC controls so interact prompts and inventory habits do not slow you down at a closing checkpoint.
Modes change how you use the same map
Containment Breach is the default asymmetrical chaos mode: Class-D and personnel loot and flee while SCPs hunt and Foundation forces try to restore order. Map knowledge here is about avoiding choke points, timing LCZ decontamination, and knowing when to abandon 914 because an SCP is camping the gate.
Class-D Riot removes the anomaly focus and turns LCZ into an armed uprising. Class-D start with light combat gear; security must rush the cell block before prisoners upgrade at 914 or flood toward EZ. Routes that feel optional in Containment Breach become the entire match here.
Council Rescue flips priority toward O5 survival. Council members begin with strong sidearms and high clearance, but delayed MTF support and fast SCP releases can turn LCZ into a kill box. Knowing secondary corridors and Gate B timing is more valuable than camping a single room.
How to study the map efficiently
- Learn LCZ exits and the LCZ–HCZ checkpoint first — most Class-D games are decided before you ever see EZ.
- Memorise where SCP-914 sits relative to cells and common SCP spawn approaches.
- Walk Gate B from EZ elevator to surface extraction on quiet rounds so combat does not teach you the path for the first time. Deep Tesla, elevator, and Surface tactics live on the dedicated Gate B guide.
- Compare Class-D versus Foundation approaches on the escape routes page so you stop dying on the wrong side of a Tesla or gate.
- After major patch notes, re-check hallway changes; Christmas already swapped some trisections for server rooms and classrooms.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for SCP retroBreach players.
How many zones does the SCP retroBreach facility have?
Four layers matter in play: Light Containment Zone, Heavy Containment Zone, Entrance Zone, and Surface. Checkpoints and gate elevators connect them in that order for most escape attempts.
Where should new Class-D players focus first?
Learn LCZ cell exits, SCP-914 approaches, and the LCZ–HCZ checkpoint. Most early deaths happen before Entrance Zone. See facility zones for landmarks.
Does every mode use the same map?
Yes — Containment Breach, Class-D Riot, and Council Rescue share the facility, but spawn timing, SCP presence, and win conditions change how each zone feels.
Where is Gate B relative to escape?
Gate B sits in Entrance Zone traffic toward a surface elevator and extraction. Class-D and Foundation use related corridors differently — details are on escape routes.
Do patches change the map layout?
Beta updates can replace hallway segments and spawn waves. The Christmas patch added server rooms, classrooms, and console-friendly pickup UI. Recheck patch notes after large updates.
