SCP retroBreach Containment Breach Guide
Classic multi-faction chaos—how to pick a lane across LCZ, HCZ, EZ, and Gate B.
Containment Breach as the default chaos sandbox
Containment Breach is the broadest SCP retroBreach mode: Sandbox Engine’s asymmetrical horror FPS playing out as a living facility emergency. Class-D hunt cards, Security Guard try to hold the line, Foundation Personnel scramble for better access, Task Force / MTF arrive to restore order, Chaos Insurgency and other hostiles exploit cracks, and SCP Anomalies turn hesitation into corpses. If Council Rescue is a focused exam, Containment Breach is the open curriculum. This guide teaches how to pick a lane so the sandbox does not feel like noise.
Prerequisites: how to play for zone literacy, SCP-914 for upgrade discipline, and either escape Class-D or play as SCP depending on spawn.
What “winning” can mean here
Because multiple factions share the server, success is role-relative:
- Class-D: escape via Gate B / surface pipelines after card progression
- Security / Personnel: deny early inmate snowballs, survive to link with MTF, reduce anomaly pressure
- MTF: stabilize EZ/HCZ transitions, clear threats, support Foundation-aligned survivors
- Chaos Insurgency / Serpent’s Hand / GOC: convert chaos into eliminations and objective pressure
- SCP Anomalies: collapse escapes and fragment human coordination until the round breaks their way
Stop judging every life by someone else’s win screen. Play the incentive you spawned.
Early LCZ: the decision factory
The opening minutes in LCZ decide half the stories. Cards spawn, guns appear, and SCP-914 becomes a lighthouse. Strong early habits:
- Loot with a priority list, not a magnet syndrome
- Treat 914 as contested content—Fine upgrades, then leave
- Track whether gunfire is Guard-vs-D, anomaly panic, or a third faction arriving
- Avoid becoming the loudest object in the zone unless you are already winning the fight
For armed-inmate LCZ pacing, guard rush habits, and riot gameplay footage, see the dedicated Class-D Riot guide—the kant2406 embed lives there, not on this page. Containment Breach layers SCPs into the same space more freely than Riot. That single difference punishes “stand in 914 chatting” harder.
Mid-round HCZ: information economy
HCZ punishes wide swings and rewards players who move like they are being hunted—even when they are the hunter. Reload discipline, alternate routes, and refusing to chase into unknown rooms separate stable runs from highlight deaths. If your card still cannot support your intended exit, admit it and solve cards before you sightseeing-tour EZ.
Anomalies should use HCZ as a filtering net: humans who panic-sprint here are already leaking information.
EZ and Gate B: where rounds become stories
Entrance Zone approaches and Gate B energy create cinematic endings and sudden third parties. MTF arrivals can flip a nearly complete Class-D escape into a firefight. Chaos Insurgency players who just escaped may turn around and contest the same door they used. If you are carrying a winning position, clear angles before interacting. If you are defending, do not over-peek; make escapers take bad fights.
Faction relationship notes (practical, not lore essay)
Early Foundation Personnel and Class-D proximity can be unstable—shared hallways do not guarantee shared interests. Escaping can rewrite your identity mid-match, which rewrites who you should shoot. Before you empty a magazine into a possible ally, spend half a second on context. Friendly fire soft-locks more Breach rounds than players admit.
How Breach differs from Council Rescue
Council Rescue compresses value onto O5 timing and can delay MTF via Gate B spawns—see Council Rescue. Containment Breach spreads value across escapes, recontainment, and multi-faction brawls. You can play a “small story” (one elegant Class-D escape) or a “big story” (MTF site stabilization) and both are legitimate. Just pick one per life.
Loadout and 914 economy inside Breach
Fine remains the default upgrade setting. Very Fine remains a calculated gamble. Rough/Coarse are not your escape plan. The machine does not care that this mode is the “main” playlist—it will still delete greed. When 914 is impossible, alternate loot from bodies and side rooms; Breach produces corpses.
Session structure for improvement
- Play two lives dedicated to survival/escape discipline.
- Play one life dedicated to Guard/MTF stabilization habits.
- Play one anomaly life focused on denying exits rather than vanity chases.
- Review which death was greed, which was information failure, which was mode ignorance.
- Bank TIX consciously—cosmetics are not power (earn TIX).
Cosmetics and codes distraction management
Breach lobbies are where players alt-tab into fake code lists. Don’t. Active codes currently lists no verified promo codes. Use official Discord giveaways if you want freebies, and keep redeem steps ready on how to redeem. Your Breach MMR-of-the-soul rises with facility IQ, not with refreshing TikToks.
Beta and platform notes
The experience is beta; balance patches will rearrange weapon feel and spawn details. Console support around January 2026 means more players on controller in the same chaotic lobbies—expect different movement cadence and aim profiles, not different zone logic.
Quick lane picker
- Spawned Class-D → escape script
- Spawned Guard/Personnel → stabilize LCZ, link up, deny 914 snowballs
- Spawned MTF → take useful routes, protect win conditions, clear SCPs with teamwork
- Spawned SCP → cut exits and 914, then reassess
- Became Chaos after escape → spend the second life like it matters
Return to the guides hub whenever you need the index. Containment Breach rewards players who choose a coherent story each spawn and ignore the temptation to play four factions at once poorly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for SCP retroBreach players.
Is Containment Breach the main mode?
It is the broad multi-faction sandbox mode. Class-D Riot and Council Rescue change pacing and objectives more narrowly.
What should I do first in Containment Breach?
Identify your role incentive, secure key progression (often via SCP-914 on Fine), and avoid loud pointless fights in LCZ.
How do escapes interact with other factions?
A Class-D escape can feed Chaos Insurgency pressure afterward, which reshapes mid-round fights around Gate B and beyond.
Should MTF always rush SCP-914?
Only if it serves stabilization. Sometimes exit denial and anomaly pressure matter more than contesting an empty machine.
Does this mode use the same zones?
Yes—LCZ, HCZ, and EZ literacy still drives routing toward Gate B and surface exits.
Where do I read mode alternatives?
See Class-D Riot for armed LCZ tactics and riot video, Council Rescue for O5 timing, and the guides hub for role primers.
